Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, hip pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.Doctors of Chiropractic practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment. Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills and are also trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as to provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counseling.The most common therapeutic procedure performed by doctors of chiropractic is known as spinal manipulation, also called chiropractic adjustment. The purpose of manipulation is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become restricted in their movement.In many cases chiropractic care may be the primary method of treatment. When other medical conditions exist, chiropractic care may complement or support medical treatment by relieving the musculoskeletal aspects associated with the condition.

Naturopathic medicine is a system of medicine that aims to restore health and wellness through the integration of scientific knowledge and holistic healing methods. The focus is on targeting the root causes of illness rather than merely addressing the symptoms of disease and illness. Individualized treatment care includes a detailed examination of each patient's physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. By returning the body to a place of balance, the goal is to not only address current health concerns but to also make the body more resistant to the effects of illness and stress, both physical and emotional.Naturopathic doctors are fully trained to take a thorough case history, perform physical examinations, and order and interpret laboratory tests. Once a complete assessment has been made, the treatment approach is individualized to each patient's specific health concerns and involves the integration of clinical nutrition & supplementation, lifestyle & dietary counselling, acupuncture, herbal medicine, homeopathy, and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Massage

Massage can assist in relieving stress and increasing relaxation. It can help lengthen over-tight muscles, preventing strains or tears during sports or everyday activities. Massage can increase range of motion and flexibility, as well as assist the body in producing endorphins, easing pain and soreness.

Dr. Deltombe is dedicated to providing gentle, high quality chiropractic care and personal attention to his patients. His goal is to provide fast and effective relief while eliminating any future reoccurrences.To use the best available scientific evidence to guide and enhance the bodys ability to heal itself by restoring motion, reducing inflammation and correcting muscle imbalances. Dr. Deltombe integrates multiple approaches and techniques in order to tailor his treatment to each patients individual needs.
Dr. Jennifer Yee (ND) is a fully licensed doctor of naturopathic medicine and is a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Ontario, one of only two accredited naturopathic colleges in Canada. Prior to her completion of her four-year naturopathic medicine program, she obtained a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree from the University of Western Ontario.Following graduation, Jennifer successfully completed the two-part NPLEX naturopathic licensing examinations as well as her Ontario provincial licensing requirements. Born and raised in Markham, Ontario, she practiced in the Toronto, Ontario area for two years, at which point the the opportunity arose to practice at the Well of Health Naturopathic Clinic in Edmonton, Alberta. Although it was a difficult decision to move across the country, she has found it to be a truly rewarding experience and has thoroughly enjoyed her new life as an Edmontonian. Recently, she has started a new chapter in her professional career by relocating to Garneau Health and Wellness where she happily joins a busy multi-disciplinary practice. Jennifer's focus is on individualized treatment care through a detailed examination of each patient's physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. After a thorough analysis and assessment, patients are provided with an individualized course of treatment that would be most appropriate for them and their health concerns. By using high quality nutritional supplementation, lifestyle and dietary counselling, acupuncture, herbal (botanical) medicine, homeopathy and Traditional Chinese Medicine, her aim is to bring patients to a place of optimal health, balance, and wellness that they can carry forward with them for the rest of their lives.In addition to being a Board-certified doctor of naturopathic medicine, she is also a professional member of the Alberta Association for Naturopathic Practitioners (AANP) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors. She has also received additional training in the treatment of addictions, mood disorders (depression, anxiety, ADHD, etc.), the care of patients with HIV, men's and women's health, pediatrics, acupuncture techniques focused on facial rejuvenation, and biotherapeutical drainage and detoxification through the use of complex homeopathics. Since moving to Edmonton she also founded the free acupuncture clinic at HIV Edmonton and has volunteered her services at the Boyle McCauley Health Clinic for low-income individuals.

Kylah Gibeau is a registered massage therapist with the National Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC). She completed the 2500 hour Diploma Program at Somatics Institute and graduated in June of 2007. She has been practicing for over 3 years, plus her two years of practicum training.Kylah has been described as having strong hands and a knack for finding all of the spots that "I didn't know I had". Her touch is firm, yet remains gentle, and she seems to have a way of getting deep into soft tissues while taking care not to create any great discomfort. She is interested in working with her clients to locate and treat 'the problem'. Her main treatment focus is on therapeutic, deep tissue, relaxation, and pre/postnatal massage. She has also taken courses in Gary Schweitzers deep tissue technique. She embraces the thought that every client is on a unique healing journey and endeavours to work with her clients to develop the treatment plan that best suits their needs. She has worked with a diverse clientele which has challenged her as a professional and enriched her life.
